Module Instructions
This module is designed as a case study under the topic of Clinical
Ethics. Your goal is to navigate through the entire case study
and answer the questions designed to check your knowledge along
the way.
Pre-test/Post-test
Before you begin this case study there are a few questions
we would like you to answer in a pretest. This test is designed
to assess your current knowledge of clinical ethics for a
Catholic healthcare organization in the context of issues
at the beginning of life. At the end of the module we ask
that you answer a similar set of questions in a post-test.
Questions Format
The questions are both multiple choice and true/false. You
are to choose the best ethical response based on the mission
and values of the organization, the Catholic moral tradition
as expressed in the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic
Health Care Services and ethical principles. After selecting
your response to each question, the answer along with the
rationale will be provided.
Background and Resources
Throughout the course, background information and resources
are provided. Background refers to information specific to
the case, question or answer. Resources refer to information
broader than the specifics of the case, question or answer.
When a hyperlink is included in the background or resource
section, you may immediately access the information.
